International students pursuing Doctorate and Master’s degrees at Monash University are supported by Monash Graduate Scholarships, which are co-funded by the university.
Monash University and the enrolling faculty, academic unit co-fund these scholarships, which assist students with living costs while they are studying at Monash.

Criteria for selection
A Monash scholarship is highly competitive and awarded based on your academic record, research outputs and research experience.
Please be aware of the conditions and benefits specified in the policy and procedure if you are successful in receiving a CF-MGS.
How do I qualify?
To qualify, you must be one of the following:
- An International student
The following criteria must be met:
- meet Monash’s competitive scholarship selection process requirements and
- meet Monash’s English language proficiency requirements.
How to apply
If you are not already enrolled, you will need to apply for graduate research scholarships when you apply for your course. You must use our Applicant Portal to apply for both admission and/or scholarship, whether you are a new or current student. Since you are considered for all graduate research scholarships (where applicable) regardless of the scholarship you are applying for, you do not need to specify the scholarship you are applying for.
(Round 1) INTERNATIONAL
- Opens 1 September and closes 31 March
(Round 3) International
- Opens 1 April and closes 31 August
Scholarship applications may differ from one another. Please read the details of the application carefully and submit your application by the deadline.
Prior to starting your application, you must have obtained an Expression of Interest (EOI) from the relevant faculty.
