International Frameworks for Gender Equality; and Promoting Gender Equality

This course is designed for women’s empowerment and it will introduce concepts, international framework, and methods for working toward gender equality and women’s empowerment.

About this course

This course is announced for both genders and they have an opportunity to build links between male and gender and particular thematic extents such as work; education; political participation; emergencies; peace and security; sexual and reproductive health; sexual and gender diversity and human rights; and violence against women.

Target audience

The UN staff and other members from different countries who are ready and have an interest in gender equality are eligible to enroll in the course.

Learning objectives

The main objective of the course is to provide awareness and understanding of gender equality and women empowerment as it is the elementary step towards a developmental transformation and combination of a gendered outlook for the entire UN staff headquarters worker, regional and country level.

Women’s Access to Justice

In the collaboration with the UN, they have designed a video that makes a concept of women empowerment and gender equality. In this video, they introduce a concept of family justice law for women. When women understand their rights and then they will protect from gaining access to justice, such as prejudiced laws, gender partiality among justice actors, women’s limited knowledge about their rights, etc. the women have to pay attention to family justice and then they will learn about their rights and what the impacts of the family law on the lives of the women.

Using Gender Statistics: A Toolkit for Training Data Users

About this course

The toolkit delivers functional content for use in working out workshops, including user-friendly explanations of key ideas with practical instances, active workouts, instantaneous assistance, and PowerPoint appearances. This toolkit is used for real-world guidance and then they will start a successful workshop in gender statistics.

The toolkit consists of six thematic components:

  • Basic skills in gender statistics
  • Measuring the population
  • Measuring work and economic activity
  • Education and training
  • Health
  • Power and decision-making in society
