In this article, you’ll find pro tips designed to help you if you’re applying to study in Canada or applying for a Canada Study Visa in 2023.
The Times Higher Education published a ranking of the world’s best universities a few months ago that included about 30 Canadian institutions. Since Canada has become an increasingly competitive study destination, getting a student visa has become more difficult than it used to be. You will find in this post all the information you need in order to get a Canadian student visa on your first attempt.
After finding out that it was illegal in Canada for anyone to have an offensive smell, which could be punished by two years in jail…funny! I recently came across an amazing platform with some funny but informative things about Canadians.
Yonge street in Ontario Canada is the longest street in the world at 1,896 km (1,178 miles), beginning in Toronto and running due north to just north of Lark Simcoe. Add to this the fact that Canada has one of the most educated populations in the world. Did you know that?
Over half of the population has a post-secondary education. Furthermore, 99% of the population is literate. Not bad, is it?
These facts led me to choose my second-degree program based on these facts. Unknown to me, I fell in love with Canada for some strange reason. It didn’t take me long to apply for a visa, thinking my love for this strange country was all I needed. Unfortunately, I was declined. To make up for all the mistakes I made, I had to go back to the drawing board.
Let’s begin here…
VISA REQUIREMENTS FOR STUDENTS IN CANADA 2023
A Canada Study Visa application package can be obtained either from the CIC website or by contacting your local visa office or the Canadian embassy or consulate. You’ll need to answer a few questions in order to receive your application package questions about yourself on the CIC website. Please include the following information in your application package:
- A DLI’s Acceptance Proof
Your acceptance letter must be from a designated learning institution (DLI). This means you must first obtain a standardized letter of acceptance from a recognized higher education provider. To study in Quebec, students need to obtain a certificate of acceptance, or CAQ, from the government of Quebec.
- A passport that is valid
You must have two passport-sized photos as well as your international passport as proof of identity. A valid proof of identification is also required for everyone accompanying the family, including recent passport-size photos, their names, and dates of birth.
- Funds Proof
Proof of financial support, which requires you to demonstrate that you are able to support yourself and all your family members (if applicable) while in Canada. Included in this are your bank account details with a Canadian bank, your bank account details for the past four months, and proof of student loan details obtained from a financial institution.
- Purpose Statement
An explanation of why you are applying for a study permit, even if you don’t need one. As a full-time student, you are also allowed to work part-time on campus with a study permit. You can also renew the permit while you are living in Canada if you wish to continue studying there. Renewing the permit does not require you to leave Canada.
- Medical Examination for Immigration
If you want to move to Canada, you may need to undergo a medical examination. We need to make sure you are not ineligible due to medical reasons. Unless you plan to work in certain jobs, you don’t need a medical exam if you plan to stay for less than six months.

Furthermore, note that;
