In the year 2023, the newton fellowship will become a fully funded fellowship. The researchers who are at higher academic institutions and UK Research Council held Research Institutes, the Royal Society will give funding up to 80% of the FEC for Directly Experienced staff costs, Directly Assigned costs, and Subsidiary costs. The society will provide the funds to independent research organizations at 100% direct amount. The students will get a full research amount from the department and they will cover their other expenses in the given amount.

The students who apply for the fellowship are eligible to get an amount of £420,000 for the year 2023. The students will not be getting the stipend as they will get the salary or the department hire the employees on salary.

The students are eligible to get the salary not for two years but for three years.

About the Newton International Fellowships 2023

The royal academy and British academy run the newton fellowship program.

Research must be within the Royal Society’s responsibility of natural sciences including but not limited to biological research, chemistry, engineering, mathematics, and physics. The funds are available in the Royal Society for the following subjects. The list is given below:

Am I eligible to apply for Newton International Fellowships 2023?

The students who want to be eligible for the fellowship have to follow the following criteria that are announced by the department.

  • All the international students are eligible to apply but they don’t have UK nationality.
  • The applicant completes their Ph.D. or is enrolled in the Ph.D. at the time of application.
  • Have seven years of experience in the field when they apply for the fellowship program.
  • Applicant must be fluent in English
  • Live outside the UK.
  • Don’t have UK nationality.
